The Rothman Law Firm is a full-service New York and New Jersey law firm that focuses on real property matters (including leasing, acquisitions, dispositions, and litigation), commercial transactions and disputes, corporate matters, general business litigation, and other practice areas.
The Rothman Law Firm was established in 2019 by two brothers, Jared and Jordan Rothman, who, after successfully collaborating with each other on a number of matters, found that the synergy created by their partnership – by combining Jordan’s deep and varied experience in litigation with Jared’s prowess in negotiating and documenting transactional matters – allowed each to provide clients with a more effective, more practical and more well-rounded service.

Jared’s practice centers on commercial real estate transactions, with a deep focus on drafting and negotiating leases for retail, experiential, fitness, office, industrial, food and beverage and other commercial uses of properties located in NYC and throughout the United States, from both the landlord and tenant standpoints.
His clients include nationally recognized retailers, publicly traded REITs, international conglomerates, charitable organizations, amusement centers, owners and operators of mixed-use properties, real estate brokerages, and other businesses with real estate interests. He is renowned in his field for having negotiated leases on behalf of, and/or across the table from, many of the most popular retailers and most of the nation’s largest shopping center operators and REITs, on deals that range from select flagship locations in the country’s most prestigious shopping districts and malls, to dozens of stores in a nationwide rollout. He has spoken at industry trade events on numerous occasions, on a number of retail real estate-related topics.
In addition to his real estate focus, Jared represents clients across a wide spectrum of other transactional and corporate matters, including sales and acquisitions of businesses, independent contractor agreements, franchise agreements, operating/partnership agreements, loan documents, vendor contracts, and more.
Prior to partnering with Jordan, Jared proudly served as an attorney at Flateman Rothman & Joyce where, for 13 years, he cultivated his skills under the tutelage of Buddy Flateman, one of the nation’s top retail leasing attorneys. Then, in 2019, Jared joined Jordan to provide clients with a more holistic service; one that combines his transactional acumen with Jordan’s prowess in litigation strategy and execution.
Jared is admitted to practice law in the states of New York and New Jersey and is a member of the New York City Bar Association, where he has served on both its Hospitality Law Committee and its Real Property Law Committee. He was named as a Rising Star in each of the 2014 through 2021 editions of New York Metro Super Lawyers Magazine. Jordan Rothman is a dedicated litigator, who has extensive experience handling cases throughout New York and New Jersey. Over the course of his career, Jordan has managed hundreds of lawsuits, including personal injury matters, commercial disputes, class actions, and many other types of cases.
Jordan earned his B.A. degree from Brandeis University in 2009, where he graduated magna cum laude with honors. He also completed an M.A. degree in American history during his senior year of college through a rigorous, four-year B.A./M.A. program.
Jordan earned his J.D. degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 2012. While at Georgetown Law, Jordan served as the Administrative Editor of the Georgetown Journal on Poverty Law and Policy. As a law student, Jordan also taught legal subjects to local high school students through Georgetown Law’s Street Law Clinic.
After graduating from Georgetown Law, Jordan worked as a litigation associate at Patton Boggs LLP (n/k/a Squire Patton Boggs LLP), a large, international law firm. At Patton Boggs, Jordan contributed to some of the biggest lawsuits pending in federal court, including several multi-billion-dollar matters. While working at Patton Boggs, Jordan honed his litigation skills, and learned the strategies necessary to succeed in high-stakes lawsuits.
After leaving Patton Boggs, Jordan worked at several mid-sized litigation shops in New York and New Jersey. At these firms, Jordan had responsibility over hundreds of lawsuits relating to personal injury matters, commercial disputes, and other areas of the law. While working at these firms, Jordan made hundreds of court appearances in both state and federal courts throughout New York and New Jersey, and gained experience handling a wide variety of legal issues.
Jordan founded The Rothman Law Firm so that he could build a law practice based on everything he learned while working at large and smaller law firms. He currently focuses his practice on commercial disputes and real estate matters, but he also handles many other types of cases. Jordan is committed to the success of his clients and draws upon his wealth of experiences to provide first-rate legal services to all who retain him.
